What's New at the Cottage PDF Print E-mail

February 2010
How are you getting through winter? I haven't found this one too bad. Usually I am so sick of shoveling by now (more like sick of it by Dec.).

For those of you who want to put photos on fabric or want to learn how, Bubble Jet Set is now back in stock. The company making it decided to take over their own distribution which was a bit of a pain for store owners but it is now back with a popular distributor so we can tack it on to an order. This is a less expensive way to do your photos on any fabric you choose. We also carry a high thread count fabric which gives better results than some lesser thread count fabrics. This is also a great way to do your quilt labels.  Call for more info or to take our class on How to Put Photos on fabric and How to Make Labels. Both classes include lots of ideas outside the box.

I have to plug our latest pattern, Pinwheel Magic. It has been our most popular by far !  This uses such an easy technique you can whip this up in no time using Charm Packs or scraps.  One or two charm packs make a nice size throw. Go through your scraps for a quick, easy baby quilt. We will be doing this class March 24 & 31.

If you haven't checked out the Facebook page yet try it. You don't have to be a member to see my page. If you are a member, become a fan and leave comments and photos of what you're doing. It's an easy way for me to update things as they happen in the store.

December 2009
I just received the info for this year's Border Creek Mystery and it is absolutely GORGEOUS. (Do I say that every year?)  Sherri did it once again. This one is only six months and has a few options as usual. If you want to join in the fun, call and register now...It's only $20 for the whole program (+ fabric of course). We also do it by mail for an extra $10 for anyone out of town or going somewhere warm for the winter.

To see pictures of last years Mystery Grand Reveal Party check out our new Facebook page. I will still post here but Facebook allows me to post so much more and also allows you to comment as well. I'd love to have you join as a fan and get your feedback. It's absolutely free.

Our Christmas wish book is out and makes shopping easy for the people in your life. Just make note of things that you would like to see under the tree and send them in. We have a coupon as our Dec. Special for you to use for yourself or to help with your shopping. Don't forget we have giftware including quilt holders, hand knitted mitts, tea pots (cute Christmas ornament ones) and decorations.

November:
We have recovered from another successful Shop Hop and are now getting ready for the
next season. I can't bring myself to say w***er yet.

Our new sign should be installed very shortly. That will improve our visibility.

We are working on a Demonstration Day for the Square in a Square method of making many blocks quickly and easily. Check [squareinasquare] to see a video.(click free video on the first page, page two select Perfecting Patchwork from the side menu, page three scroll down to 7010 Rolling Star. See a whole new way of doing complicated blocks easily. Call the store if you are interested and for more info. We are just confirming dates. Leave your name on the list and we'll call with details when we have them.

The next Border Creek Mystery will be arriving shortly. If you haven't done a mystery quilt before this is a great one to start with. It's very well organized and the instructions are well illustrated and we do have so much fun getting together for this one. It is available by mail as well for anyone out of our area or going south. Put your name on the list for info on this one as it arrives.

The quilt, Pinwheel Garden (pictured), we had as a prize for Shop Hop is available as a full colour pattern. Kits are available. Do it up in white and blue to create a blizzard for your favorite snow queen or king.
